Location

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (NRA) is located within 40 miles of coastline between Florence, Oregon and Coos Bay, Oregon.

Description

The largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America, Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area offers "easy" to "most difficult" riding for Class I, II, and III vehicles.

Fees

Access to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (NRA) requires one of the following passes:

• Northwest Forest Pass
• Pacific Coast Passport

Note: Passes are not required at the many campgrounds located nearby.

Facilities

The following facilities are available at Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area:

• Parking - There are several paved staging areas located in the area.
• Camping - There are several campgrounds in the area, some with direct access to the dunes.
• Restrooms - Most staging areas have restrooms and picnic facilities. For riding times and gates closures, please see the "Comments" section below.
• Nearby food and lodging.

Comments

Maps and trail information can be obtained from the Oregon Dunes NRA Office.

Riding times are restricted as follows:

• South Jetty riding area is open to motorized travel from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
• Umpqua Dunes is open to motorized travel 24 hours a day.
• Horsfall is open to motorized travel from 6:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Season

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is open all year.
